He was 8 years old when he first officiated as cantor in his grandfather's synagogue in Dmievka. A commited Zionist, he finally realized his dream of moving to Isreal in 1954 and was invited to become the cantor of the Tifert Zvi Synagogue in Tel Aviv.The Midnigh Selichot Service is composed of selections originally recorded in the Tiferet Zvi synagoge from 1954 to 1962, by Kol Israel Radio, and has been broadcast on national radio every year since , on Selichot Night.
